Our Growth is Your Growth: How Employee Development Ensures Client Success

The Virtual Life : Article

Here at Virtual, our mission is to achieve long-term success by ensuring that every client we serve achieves or exceeds its strategic objectives. This can be boiled down to two words: clients first. Every move we make as a company is driven by our purpose to help clients succeed and thrive. Our team is an integral part of this success. Virtual encourages continued learning and professional development for all employees, not only to provide excellent service to our clients, but also to foster personal growth.

Last week, two employees in our Reston, Virginia office, Dawn Gannon and Saima Hedrick, learned that they had passed the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) Certified Association Executive (CAE) exam. This exam recognizes excellence and competence in association professionals, as well as their aptitude for navigating the ever-changing world of association management. Dawn and Saima spent months prepping for the exam with an after-hours study group and completed several practice tests.

Both Dawn and Saima pursued CAE certification to further their professional growth and increase their ability to deliver outstanding client service.

Saima notes, “The CAE gives you all the tools that you may not have had access to in the past, such as legal, tax, and HR requirements and best practices. Now I can serve as a resource for my clients to bring those best practices to their attention as they begin to implement new programs, policies, and develop strategies for the future.”

Dawn agrees, remarking, “As a CAE, I feel that I am better prepared to serve the Academy for Eating Disorders because I possess a deeper understanding of association best practices.”

Virtual values professional development, financially supporting employees in the knowledge that their increased skills will directly impact our ability to provide the best, most current information and tools to our clients. However, we also know that achieving a credential like CAE is personally rewarding. Saima and Dawn both credit a love of continued learning as one of the reasons for aspiring to the CAE credential. Virtual strives to keep employees engaged and fulfilled, recognizing that this results in higher job satisfaction and longevity, all of which directly benefits clients.

Virtual is very proud of the accomplishments of Saima and Dawn and how they are already benefiting our clients!
