More than 700 deans and other senior university leaders, key staff, and teams responsible for the management of professional, continuing, and online education programs are headed to Seattle to hear from engaging keynoters, participate in high-energy concurrent sessions, and take advantage of networking opportunities.

Following preconference events and council meetings, UPCEA2019 begins Wednesday afternoon with an opening general session featuring Eric Liu. The author and CEO of Citizen University will discuss the future of American identity. Also on the agenda:

Next execs. New for 2019 is the UPCEA Emerging Leader Program. Designed for mid-level professionals who aspire to more senior roles, participants will receive skills development in areas critical for executive leadership like strategic planning, innovation, and leading teams. There will also be special opportunities to network with peers and senior leaders.

Get talking. The Spring Leadership Roundtable will focus on driving organizational change. After hearing case studies from peers, participants will form small groups and use collaborative problem-solving to identify options and tactics to achieve institutional change and advocate for online learning enterprises.

Game time. All attendees are encouraged to take part in the meeting’s scavenger hunt. Once they complete activities like meeting with exhibitors and attending sessions, they are eligible for the grand prize: complimentary registration to the 2020 UPCEA Annual Conference in Boston.
