Association Brain Food Weekly: 3.31.17

Your weekly list of free webinars and events for the association community…and this time it covers the next two weeks.

Chesler Park - Needles - Canyonlands by Fabio Achilli

It’s a double whammy this week, folks. I’m heading to southern Utah with my guy and two sisters-out-law for a week of hiking amidst the red rocks we love so much. I’ll be off the grid except for sharing photos on Facebook (of course!) so this week’s Brain Food includes webinars and etcetera for the weeks of April 3 and April 10.

Does age still matter? Cynthia D’Amour digs into the reasons why member age isn’t the illuminating factor you think it is. For example, think about the “25 year old married with kids and working” compared to the “25 year old living at home with parents, periodically going to school and yet to pay their own bills.” She also shares insightful observations about the other end of the age spectrum too. A must-read.

Aptify shares five under-utilized member recruitment tactics. The first two are my favorites—every self-respecting association should be using them.

Association Media & Publishing with help from the creative team at Imagination has a new podcast—associationNation. I enjoyed the first episode about associations that manage to publish content rapidly in response to industry events or news. Subscribe and geek out!

Inspired by a series of posts from Billhighway, Associations Now has been all over the joint chapter/National membership topic lately. Billhighway’s most recent post discusses how to decide if joint membership is the right model for your association and chapters.

And finally, for my fellow content marketers, check out the five key insights from the Content Marketing Institute/MarketingProfs annual survey of B2B content marketers.

If your organization has a webinar scheduled in the next few weeks, please send me the link. I’ll be happy to feature it as long as it’s not too product-centric.
