The Institute of Directors also offer member case studies. I particularly love The Marketing Society’s WLTM (would like to meet) blog , it offers a quick and friendly insight into a new member, but I also think it is keeping with their brand. As does CharityComms ; they use video clips which I think adds interest.

What I liked about their case study was how well planned their activity was and how focused they were on assessing the ROI. They used their recruiter network to turn leads into members (like many trade associations, the BWF uses recruiters who are typically ex-tradespeople to market membership). What I liked.

Use SIG members to provide case studies or quotes about being part of the SIG to help you promote them. Even if your SIGs are well attended, it pays to continually promote them. They are a key benefit and you want to encourage members to engage with them. What do you think? Does your organisation make the most of its SIGs?

5) Written case studies – using a member to talk about a particular service that helped them will bring it alive. Instead of just asking members to merely respond to a consultation, you could ask members to video or take pictures to support the campaign, which can then be used by you when promoting the campaign.

For the record I think that Jane has done a great job (along with her team) at the CIPR, they really do so many great things, they really are a case study of membership best practice. A practitioner can learn the ‘world of membership’ from staff and from talking to other membership body leaders.

They also submitted a detailed consultation response which offered compelling case studies from members and included lots of illustrative facts and figures. Consultation response. They then started a petition and with the help of those working/volunteering in Welsh charity shops they collected over 22,000 signatures.
