The Association for Talent Development’s 2016 International Conference and Exposition kicks off this weekend in Denver.

More than 10,000 talent-development professionals will be in the Mile-High City in the upcoming days to learn how to more effectively train and develop people, as well as gain insights into the latest trends, best practices, and new solutions for designing and delivering learning programs.

Association: Association for Talent Development

Conference: ATD 2016 International Conference & Exposition

Venue: Colorado Convention Center

Location: Denver

ATD 2016 officially starts on Sunday afternoon with four session blocks. Then, on Monday morning, the first of three general session speakers hits the stage. Simon Sinek, bestselling author and visionary thinker, will discuss what it takes to create an environment in which people work together. Also of note:

Options galore. The meeting offers 10 content tracks and four industry tracks, plus a variety of session types. Among them: Best of the Best, meaning the session won the ATD BEST Award a record 10 times, and Innogizer, which ATD defines as “active sessions designed to energize you throughout the conference with innovative programming that supports your learning in a unique way.”

Easy to spot. ATD staff “secret spotters” will hand out prizes inside the expo hall during the conference. To participate, attendees need to visit the information desk in ATD Central, collect their Get Spotted ribbon, and wear it for the duration of the conference. If a secret spotter sees the ribbon on an attendee, he or she could win a prize on the spot. Prizes include free conference registrations, workshops, and publications.

Never eat alone. The Meet to Eat option is perfect for those attending the conference alone, who don’t know where to go to dinner, who are tired of room service, or who just want to get to know new people. Attendees can arrange to join their ATD colleagues for dinner on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday by stopping by the Meet to Eat Desk and picking a restaurant that appeals to their taste buds as well as their budget.
