What is it? The Australian Graphic Design Association knows its member base is well-connected online—almost by default, in fact. But there are always ways to underline that point even more, and through a collaboration with the domain registrar Porkbun, AGDA is offering discounts on .design top-level domains: free for the first year, with 40 percent discounts each year thereafter.

Why it works: The approach isn’t too uncommon in the association space—the National Association of Realtors, for example, offers a similar benefit to its members—but as much design work is done for online audiences these days, the top-level domain offering is a particularly good fit for the firms and artists that make up the group’s more than 2,600 members.

Other benefits: AGDA puts on a number of events for members to show off their design skills. AGDA events, along with those presented by affiliated organizations, are offered at discounted members-only prices. Members also have access to mentorship programs, legal aid, and discounts on project-management tools.
