Community Hub was created to be highly configurable, and our clients are welcomed and encouraged, to modify the design to match their own branding.
Back in February of 2015, Nimble AMS started on the adventure of building “Community Hub,” as our in-platform constituent facing portal to Nimble AMS. As an in-platform solution, it was important not to deviate too much from Salesforce’s visual styling and thus Community Hub’s design was heavily influenced by Salesforce’s design guidelines. Unfortunately, at the time Salesforce was also trying to find their own visual identity and eventually they abandoned the design guidelines we were adhering to in favor of the Lightning Design System later in the year.
Community Hub was created to be highly configurable, and our clients are welcomed and encouraged, to modify the design to match their own branding. But we still felt that the default theme, meant to be the basis from which other themes are created, was a little outdated, and we wanted to change that. In the spirit of continuous improvement, the Bold theme was born.
The Bold theme is the new Community Hub default theme. It was born out of one our recent “Idea Days” – our internal hackathon event, where the Nimble AMS product team takes a day out of every release cycle and instead of focusing on the usual product roadmap work, we dedicate the time to pure innovation and let our developers run wild. Some of the best improvements in Nimble AMS have come from these Idea Days!
The new theme is a modern and clean visual refresh to the baseline look of Community Hub. It can be turned on by the flip of a switch and it is backwards compatible, meaning that you are free to use it or not, without it affecting any custom theme you currently have.
On top of being a visual refresh, the Bold theme also allows for you to personalize the look of your page’s headers.
