Suicide-Prevention Group Puts Focus on Survivors

'25 The number of attempts reported for every suicide in 2010, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. For young adults between the ages of 15 and 24, the number jumps to between 100 and 200 attempts for every reported suicide. In a decision that could change the long-standing focus of the organization, the American Association of Suicidology voted this month to expand its mission to include those who have attempted suicide but survived.
