'Santa Monica sunrise on an early morning run. I had a great trip to Southern California earlier this week. The Flavor & Extract Manufacturers Association hosted a workshop in Santa Monica for food industry professionals interested in learning more about flavor creation. This was not a course for flavorists, the artists that create flavors. They have a professional society that trains and accredits them.

'After receiving approval from the state’s accountancy board, the Ohio Society of CPAs has launched a collection of 10-minute courses. The approval makes certified public accountants in Ohio the first in the country to be eligible to earn continuing education credit for micro-learning courses. Accountants in Ohio no longer have to wade through hours-long courses to fulfill their continuing education requirements.

'A trio of wireless and telecom industry trade groups reportedly are working on lawsuits to fight the FCC’s decision to regulate internet service providers as utilities. That’s a shift from the last legal battle over internet rules, which was spearheaded by Verizon. The first time the Federal Communications Commission tried to create open-internet regulations, it faced a lawsuit from Verizon— which it lost.
