If you’re like me, you don’t always need a calendar to remind yourself of important events. Engrained in my memory are my son’s birthday and my wedding anniversary. Some of us recall where we were when President Kennedy was shot, when the space shuttle Challenger was lost, or where we were on 9/11. And now, for many of us, we remember exactly where we were last March as the world, including our community associations, suddenly stopped in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
March was the month we closed the doors to the CAI headquarters office, stopped hosting in-person education courses and events, halted visiting CAI chapters, and like many of you, began to work from home. As we quarantined, we watched the closure of restaurants, hotels, fitness centers, and local businesses that keep our country thriving.
One year later, many community associations, management firms, and business partners are still reeling from the impacts of COVID-19. At CAI, we continue to find new ways to offer support. We embraced technology, and we adapted to help our members and clients navigate a new world.
Many of those changes will remain with us in 2021. We will continue to offer new virtual education courses. You can find a full suite of live, online classes on the CAI website. We know it’s essential to share our knowledge—from live webinars, to professional education classes to keep you current with CAI designations and industry credentials, to launching new virtual programs in collaboration with CAI chapters. Collectively, our expertise fuels our industry’s growth and success.
As we move through the year, we will launch new content, resources, and programs to support community association managers, homeowner leaders, and business partners. While our doors are still closed, we can see a glimpse of hope that one day, in the near future, we can all open our doors again.
