The weekly list of free educational events and resources for the association community…

Free professional development resources and events for CAEs, association staff and others in the association community

Maddie Grant and Jamie Notter have a new book coming out, The Non-Obvious Guide to Employee Engagement. The book presents a provocative alternative solution to one of the biggest problems in workplaces: declining employee engagement. They provide an action plan to increase engagement, even if you’re not “in charge” of engagement, along with case studies of organizations that have successfully shifted their cultures. In this competitive talent market, this sounds like a must-read for association execs.

LinkedIn, Coursera, Udemy and other learning platforms are coming for your market, if they haven’t already. WBT Systems recommends partnering with member companies to design and deliver learning content so they don’t send their employees elsewhere.

Amanda Kaiser shares a list of content, community, and education resources for association professionals, including Association Brain Food Weekly.

Jimmy Daly at Animalz describes three big challenges to producing great content. He’s spot on, but, thankfully, provides advice on how to overcome these challenges.

Some quick hits before we get to next week’s free webinars:

  • 5 content strategies for niche B2B industries. (Ryan Law, CXL)
  • A classic marketing mantra (about pricing) is flawed. (Barry Davret, Medium)
  • 20 of the best free stock photo sites. (Carly Stec, HubSpot)

Here are the educational events scheduled for next week. If you have any free webinars or events coming up, please send me the link. I’ll be happy to feature it as long as it’s not product-centric.
