And all throughout, checking and responding to emails, Tweets, and LinkedIn posts. In the office at 7:00 AM, on the road at 9:30 AM, a conference presentation at 11:30 AM, back on the road at 12:30 PM, a conference call in the car at 1:00 PM, a planning meeting back in the office at 3:00 PM.

We''re not going to use LinkedIn or Facebook or one of the other "free" social platforms that are out there. Social networks like LinkedIn and Facebook, and off-the-shelf communities provided by vendors, are both round holes that the square pegs of our knowledge, expectations, and needs are not necessarily going to fit in.

We went ahead on put "innovator" on our LinkedIn profile and now we're patting ourselves on the back. Simply stated, we're lying to ourselves. We've made a couple of progressive changes in our organizations and we think we're done now. Mission accomplished. Except there is so much more work to do.

Some are struggling to find the right combination of social media outposts (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.) Also make sure they understand and have appropriate control over the resources at their disposal. How do you use social media to engage members? More challenges than solutions here. to engage with their members. The Chairmans Gift.

I wonder if it's the simple reality that we're already engaging in conversations online in other places and that's where these need to move (Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.).
