Organization: International Claim Association

Conference: 108th Annual Education Conference

Venue: Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina

City: San Diego

Following an ’80s-themed welcome reception on Sunday evening (acid-washed jeans, side ponytails, and shoulder pads are encouraged), the 108th Annual Education Conference begins on Monday morning with a general session featuring Pierre Khawand. The founder of People-OnTheGo will discuss principles that can help attendees, their teams, and their organizations overcome the challenges of information overload and work efficiently together to achieve their desired results. Also on the agenda:

Newbie navigator. Making its debut this year is the Newcomer Navigator Program. It will pair first-time attendees with conference veterans to help them make the most of their conference experience and get answers to their questions.

Get involved. On Monday afternoon, ICA will host a Committee Fair, which will give each of the association’s committees a space for current and prospective members to meet informally, discuss the work of the committee and its goals, and talk about ways to participate.

Wind down. After a few days of learning, attendees will get a chance to relax during Tuesday evening’s closing reception at the San Diego Maritime Museum. The event will take place on the historic (docked) Berkeley Ferry. Attendees can also explore the museum’s other ships, including the Star of India and submarines.
