Looking for a way to bring a tech upgrade to your next meeting? Take inspiration from Apple’s new augmented reality walking tour.

Called [AR]T Walk, the project aims to help digital art come alive in physical spaces. The tours are currently in New York, San Francisco, London, Paris, Hong Kong, and Tokyo through mid-August.

“Apple is combining two long-standing major efforts in a new push, making AR more consumer-friendly and helping portray Apple Stores as civic centers where communities can come together,” says Lucas Matney on TechCrunch.

At meetings, such a tour would also provide an opportunity for guests to explore the host city and conference venues.

Should disaster strike during your annual meeting, you’ll want a plan in place to cover next steps. And a planner’s biggest mistake is often assuming that other people, such as the venue manager, already have an emergency preparedness plan in place, said John Whitney IV, CEO of Emergency Concierge International, in an interview with Smart Meetings. Planners must take the initiative themselves to develop a plan.

And that plan needs to include how to handle an emergency once the meeting is over. “Attention must be paid to the recovery phase,” Whitney said. “It is important to discuss what could be done differently, what needs to be done to prevent future occurrences, and to ensure that the emotional well-being of your staff and attendees is addressed.”
