Technology

Just wondering...why do I feel like I absolutely have to answer my cell phone, no matter what I'm doing, no matter where I am? It's controlling me. It's disruptive and it affects my concentration. I am putting myself back into the drivers seat. If I am on another phone, doing something else, trying to get a project done - leave me a message, that will work just fine!

I am with you on this one Kath! I am currently debating an upgrade to my cell, but am also not willing to make the leap to a "crackberry". I've seen too many of my peers totally dominated by this device. I guess the balance is knowing when to shut the thing off.

It's emails I feel compelled to read. I finally turned off the alert sound so I wouldn't feel this urgent need to read the new messages. I literally have stopped myself in mid-sentence to open them. There must be something in me that says "Something new! Don't miss it!"
