Last month, the American Historical Association announced that its 2020 annual meeting will not a have a theme —for the first time since 2003. For instance, the American Public Health Association’s 2018 Annual Meeting , taking place next week in San Diego, features the theme “Health Equity Now.”

Then there’s the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, which teamed up with the nonprofit Neighborhood House during its 2016 Annual Meeting in San Diego. They work year-round with the Veterans History Project and, since 2003, have transcribed more than 4,000 interviews.
