Association Management Lessons from Twinkpocalypse 2012

Association Subculture

I knew there would be a number of tribute videos on YouTube for the Twinkie. I just knew it. Say what you want about the Generation X alarm about the possible demise of Hostess but you can't deny it's impact on the pop culture consciousness over the past 72 hours.

The coolest thing I saw all week, no contest, was Felix Baumgartner’s supersonic free fall skydive. Nothing beats that. Red Bull has two short videos of the event: a 1:30 minute highlight version and a 4:30 minute full recap version. Both are exhilarating to watch.

Changing the World in 2012. Posted January 4, 2012. Maddie tagged me in a “how are you going to change the world in 2012″ meme in a blog post last week. She was inspired by this post by Craig Newmark, and now she’s asked a whole host of us to talk about what we’re going to do in 2012 and how we’re going to change the world. The focus of my consulting in 2012 is going to be on creating change that works. July 2012 (9).

Association Advocacy Chick

Well, the amazing Maddie Grant issued a challenge to blog about the topic How are you going to change the world in 2012 ? In 2012, I’m going to shock, surprise, and outrage those who uphold these stereotypes of black women. This time last year, I wrote about how I aimed to be a better person professionally and personally. For the most part, I’ve shown some real growth in both areas. However, the effort to become better doesn’t end at the stroke of midnight.
