2018 Building Associations Momentum Award Winners

The GrowthZone AMS 1st Annual Association Momentum Awards Competition for Construction Trades and Building Associations yielded extraordinary results, with entrants submitting details of their most inventive and forward-thinking programs.

The competition recognizes innovative programs, events, and ideas that challenge the status quo.  Entries were received from an array of organizations and the winners were selected by a distinguished panel, including Membership Expert, Mary Byers, AMS expert, Ashwin Tutak, and GrowthZone Senior VP of Marketing, John Cook.

The Big Book of Association Ideas: Construction Trades & Building Associations Edition
showcases the 7 winning ideas from this year’s competition.

Entries were judged on creativity, industry impact, value to association, value to members, and replicability. The overall competition winner was awarded the $1,500 grand prize. The grand prize was not dependent on association size. Entries from national, regional, and local organizations were considered. Additionally, there were three $500 prizes awarded to the first-place winner in size-based categories. The number of outstanding submissions resulted in Honorable Mention recognition of three additional programs.

The Asheville Home Builders Association (NC) was awarded the Grand Prize. Also earning top recognition was the Large Association winner, Pennsylvania Builders Association (PA); the Medium Association winner, Tidewater Builders Association (VA); and Small Association winner, University of Cincinnati Construction Student Association (OH).

Honorable Mentions included the BIA of Okaloosa-Walton Counties (FL), Charlotte-Desoto Building Industry Association (FL), and Desert Valley Builders Association (CA).

GrowthZone AMS is proud to celebrate these enterprising organizations who have brought their fresh and imaginative ideas to the forefront of the association world.
