Wednesday Buzz: How to Get Results Using Video

Everyone's always talking about video, but what are some legitimate ways to use it for lead conversion? Plus: A new podcast for the association community debuts.

From big businesses to small nonprofits, there’s a huge question floating around: How can video be integrated into existing marketing efforts? And for many, that turns into: How can video be used for lead conversion?

In a guest post on the Duct Tape Marketing blog, community and content manager Kala Linck explores six proven ways to generate results from your video efforts.

Annotations, for example, are nothing new for commercial or artistic video. But digital video platforms have immensely expanded their potential for lead conversion.

“For YouTube users, you may notice that some videos you watch have pop-ups throughout the video,” Linck writes. “They may make comments about the video, add facts or valuable information, or even provide updates to an old version of the video. Use these annotations to push leads to your social media sites, website, or landing page!”

And those calls to action don’t have to exist solely in the video format. Remember: Viewers who stay until the end of your video are going to be your most engaged audience members, so Linck advises making a custom end card where you can “have them like your brand on Facebook, follow you on Twitter, or better yet, send them to a landing page to download a free eBook or checklist—where you directly capture their contact information.”
