Innovation and Communication Cited as Priorities for Associations

2022 Assoc Survey - 2

GrowthZone recently released the 2022 Association Industry Survey results. Last November, GrowthZone surveyed over 300 association professionals across the U.S. and Canada.

The results showed trends in a number of interesting topics impacting today’s associations including:

-New services and innovations
-Member engagement programs
-Lessons learned from 2021, and so much more!

Nearly half of respondents launched new member services, offerings or tools during 2021 that are showing promise today. Several stated the need for virtual meetings helped strengthen their membership during the ongoing pandemic. “Virtual events have increased membership and awareness of the association,” one response stated. Another shared details about a program they found success with, stating “We re-launched our co-op connections card. It connects members nationwide with participating businesses. We handle the marketing and communication, so it’s a high ROI for the businesses and members.”

Member discounts, online meetings, directories, and medical or retirement benefits were added programs respondents mentioned. 56% stated that specific new ideas and programs helped members recover and respond to the challenges of the pandemic. Communication about why members should rely on the associations and strategic planning for membership needs were also top activities cited as helping associations overcome the challenges of 2020.
