Reading and learning may be the last things on your mind right now. But after a few days of holiday relaxation, your brain could be ready for a bit of exercise—or, brain food.

Peter Houstle of Mariner Management & Marketing has been working with several associations on a chapter ROI matrix. Billhighway provides examples of how associations are using this matrix to quantify (in dollars) the value chapters deliver to their associations.

Association Adviser shares the story of Guillermo Ortiz de Zarate, Chief Innovation and Information Officer for NCARB, who created Lineup, a software platform that helps organizations efficiently manage talent and form teams (and committees) with diverse strengths.

The end of the year is a time of reflection—at home and at work. MemberSuite suggests different membership metrics to track, review and share with your colleagues.

Some quick hits before we get to this week’s list of free webinars:

  • Perennials (older workers), not millennials, will trigger the next wave of talent retention efforts. (Quartz)

Webinars are on hold until after the holidays, so here are the educational events scheduled for early January. I’ll add more in the coming weeks. If you have any free webinars or events coming up, please send me the link. I’ll be happy to feature it as long as it’s not product-centric.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas!
