Association Brain Food Weekly: 5.2.16

Reid All About it

While writing this I realized I haven’t been taking my own medicine. Since my return from Big Bend, I haven’t attended any webinars. I won’t make that same mistake this week. I’m definitely participating in Tuesday’s Association Chat on Blab—a topic and speakers I don’t want to miss. And, I’ll see how the rest of my week shapes up. I’d love to go to Chicago for the AMS Fest, but…too many conferences, too little time and money, sort of like books.

Groups Encourage Young Adults to Embrace Farming

Associations Now

Many young adults have passed on farming as a way of life, a trend that some farming groups want to reverse. One potential way to attract new generations? Student-loan forgiveness. Effective Database

Often my clients will tell me they want to be more efficient with how they manage data. And that’s important. If we have to manage the data, we might as well manage it as efficiently as possible. But it’s equally important to consider how effective we are with our data management. As a good friend once said to me, if you’re managing crap, and you become more efficient, all you’re doing is making crap faster.

Why is email deliverability important?

SilkStart

Email is a critical part of running your association and delivering benefits to your members. Your members rely on emails to keep their membership dues up to date, find out about upcoming events, receive and store receipts, and more. If the emails you send aren’t reliably reaching your members, it could have a devastating effect on your membership. Worse, it can take weeks or months to find out that a member isn’t receiving your emails – and by then you could have lost them.
