In response to COVID-19, Congress passed the CARES Act, a $2.2 trillion bill that provides financial relief for individuals, small businesses, corporations, hospitals, state and local governments, and nonprofit organizations. While associations are included in some of the act’s programs, trade and professional associations experiencing severe revenue losses during the current pandemic were excluded from the Paycheck Protection Program.
