Best Benefit Ever: A Coffee Association With Plenty of Perks

In honor of National Coffee Day, we take a look at what member benefits are percolating at the National Coffee Association.

What’s the benefit? While coffee drinking may be on the decline in America, it’s still one of the most popular beverages on the market. And to give its product a boost, the National Coffee Association is brewing several benefits for its members, including live and on-demand webinars, events such as the 2015 Coffee Summit, and the latest research on coffee and caffeine from NCA’s scientific advisory group. Members can also access market research, including a discounted annual National Coffee Drinking Trends report and an in-depth assessment of the rising popularity of single-cup brewing.

Why it works. With java consumption dropping, it’s more important than ever for distributors to develop a strong network to help them succeed. Using NCA’s networking list, members can easily connect with colleagues at different levels of the industry.

Other benefits. NCA also serves up a big cup of government action and lobbying. “The NCA’s role is to flag potential problems, identify industry priorities, lead constructive conversations, plan targeted strategies, and take action as needed,” its website states. Members can access information on important public policy issues such as the Food Safety Modernization Act and the 2015 Dietary Guidelines.
