Save Time – Stop Excessive Emailing

Association Leaders

As business and association leaders we all receive and send hundreds of emails daily. Including junk/spam and legitimate emails, I receive 300 emails daily on average. I send on average 50 emails daily. If it takes av average of 30 seconds for me to review and take action on emails I receive (obviously some take much more time and others take much less) then I spend two and one half hours daily reading and responding to emails.

My Birthday Gift to You: Wisdom

Reid All About it

Today is my birthday. Permit me a little self-indulgence here. I’m taking a few days off to reflect, relax and celebrate because it’s a BIG birthday. I’m not unplugging completely, oh no. Twitter and Facebook are fun intellectual and conversational playgrounds for me so I’ll hang out there, maybe more than I usually do. I’ll read, cook, eat, drink, do a little yoga, celebrate with friends and prepare for hurricane Irene’s visit.

Are you “using” your members?

Optimist Consulting

Every membership body should have the members at the heart of everything they do, but sometimes they don’t always “use” them. And I mean use in the best possible way! It does take resource to organise, but offering an interview, blog entry or story from a member is a great way to remind the rest of the membership they are part of an exclusive club.

Color Me Impressed: The Smart Set for August 2011

Reid All About it

What’s the old saying? For every three people who praise your business, ten others complain about you? That may be hogwash, but I know from experience that the last thing a business owner wants is someone running their mouth off about a bad customer service experience, especially if we were never given the chance to make it right. Social media gives us a platform to b h about the ways we’ve been done wrong, and that negative buzz spreads quickly.
