Has common courtesy gone away?

Has the world gotten so fast, and so overwhelming with all of the massive quantities of info and communications, that people have forgotten the common courtesies of returning a phone call or answering an email - just because it's the right thing to do? Where have our manners gone? Are they disappearing along with land-lines, fax machines, and TV antennas? All I can say is, I hope not. I think we should all consider going back to the basics, to the rules our mother's taught us; Be kind to one another, treat others as you want to be treated, say please and thank you, and r.s.v.p. when asked to do so. Simple.
