Twitter, I Hate You. Twitter, I Love You.

I have a list of things that are bad for me that I can’t or won’t give up. I’m embarrassed to say that this list is longer than it should be. Examples include:

  • Carbohydrates from packaged foods
  • Spending too much time on social media
  • Looking at my phone before I go to bed

I’ll stop at three, but understand that this list is much, much longer in its entirety.

There are reasons I want to quit Twitter, but I just can’t seem to do it.

Sometimes those reasons to stay don’t seem strong enough and I think I’m ready. But other days, I come across something like The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Twitter account and I realize I may never leave. Even when Elon’s tweets elicit a desire for me to go off the grid and leave society altogether.

I could write a longer post about the Twitter war that started yesterday about The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife’s logo looking like a bearded guy, but all you need to know is that PBS and the FDA Twitter accounts have weighed in and the results are HILARIOUS. This isn’t about my writing capability or complete reporting. This is about the awesome.

And I am here for it.

If you’ve left the Twitterverse, here’s a TLDR version of the conversation in screenshots without having to follow the whole story:
