A Higher Logic Hello: Meet David Jovel

We recently sat down with David Jovel, Director of Sales at Higher Logic, to learn a few fun facts.

We recently sat down with David Jovel, director of sales at Higher Logic, for a quick Q&A to learn a little more about him outside of the workplace. From his first job to what he would choose for his superpower, the answers are all below!

How long have you been at Higher Logic? I joined by way of an acquisition (Real Magnet) in October of 2017. I joined Real Magnet in August of 2005, so all together that puts me at 17 years.

Where are you located? I am originally from Maryland where I spent 37 years. I moved down to Ponte Vedra, FL in 2018.

What is your favorite thing about your job? Two-fold here because it relates to working with intelligent, kind and assiduous individuals. First, it is the staff and team members that I get to work with at Higher Logic. Second, it is all of the customers and industry partners I get to work with. I truly believe that different individuals are able to provide all different types of insights and in my job, I have the opportunity to have those conversations.

What was your very first job? I was a valet across the DC areas where I got to meet a few presidents, vice-presidents and actors.

What do you like to do outside of work? I enjoy spending time with the family doing something at either the beach or the pool. Always up for trying a new restaurant or cuisine.

Favorite sports team? Everything Washington DC except for the NFL. I root for the Dallas Cowboys.

If you weren’t in sales, what would be your dream job? I’ve always wanted to be a high school history teacher. Some of the biggest influences in my life were teachers so I would aspire to have influence on a future generation.

If you could choose, what superpower would you want?  Fly, always the ability to fly. I love to travel so it would make it much easier.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be? Right now, because I haven’t been yet, it would probably be Turkey. Hagia Sophia looks amazing, and it sits on the Mediterranean.

If you could go back and talk to your 18-year-old self, what would you say? Practice at remembering peoples names. You might get into sales one day and it will help you in the future

Any other fun facts? I scaled the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
