Friday Buzz: Attract Millennials With Job Boards

Are private job boards hindering your ability to recruit millennials? Also: Three familiar association technology providers join together to create a new, unified brand.

Many associations are struggling with millennial recruitment, so they need to use every tool in their arsenals to connect with young prospects and showcase their value. The Careerleaf blog shares ways associations can do that by leveraging job boards.

Ease of access is a priority for millennials. In that vein, consider making your job board visible to the public and mobile-friendly. Careerleaf suggests making career portals viewable to anyone, but allow only members to apply for jobs. This way, it’s easy for prospective members to see an immediate benefit of joining your organization.

“By being able to show off an active and thriving job board, your association can take advantage of its job content as a tool for marketing and SEO, while creating more visible incentives for new membership sign-ups.”

Big TECH News

The association space is buzzing today about the news from three association technology brands.

Abila, Aptify, and YourMembership are joining forces to create Community Brands, “becoming one of the world’s largest technology and services groups offering a suite of solutions designed for cause-oriented organizations,” according to a news release.

YourMembership President and CEO JP Guilbault will become the president of Community Brands, but the three brand names will be kept separate under the new brand’s umbrella.

“We anticipate great advancements as our combined talent and use of best practices will strengthen each brand’s ability to focus on the specialized needs of their target customers, while bringing new offerings to market faster to solve a vast array of unmet needs,” Guilbault said in the release.

Community Brands will become the technology solution for more than 13,000 associations.
