Members of Congress join associations, including ASAE, in pushback against proposed overtime rule. The Department of Labor (DOL) released a proposed rule last summer that would require businesses to pay overtime wages to employees making $50,440 or less per year, which would be a 113 percent increase over the current threshold.

ASAE submitted comments to the Internal Revenue Service last week on the upcoming “Cadillac” tax, a 40 percent, nondeductible excise tax on high-cost health plans that goes into effect in 2018. Dean Heller (R-NV) and Martin Heinrich (D-NM). Joe Courtney (D-CT) but has yet to see a floor vote.
