How to hack it? Each year as dental schools hold their graduation ceremonies, the Academy of Osseointegration recognizes outstanding students for their dedicated work in the field of periodontics. This year, AO selected 60 students, each nominated by their respective school.

“It’s a great pleasure to celebrate the hard work and dedication of our students with this annual event and recognize their interest and commitment to patient care and research in the field periodontics,” said Dr. Uri Hangorsky, interim chair of the department of periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania, in a statement.

Why does it work? The award gives students recognition among their peers, plus a head start on joining the professional community of implant dentistry. Each award recipient gets a free year of AO membership, helping them ease the transition from student to professional member.

What’s the bonus? The award comes with additional member perks, including a free registration to AO’s Annual Meeting and a $500 stipend that can be applied toward travel expenses to attend the conference.
