Best Benefit Ever: Quality Assurance

The Architectural Glass and Metal Association now offers a Quality Management System and a Quality Assurance Program for glazing contractors.

What is it? The Architectural Glass and Metal Association (AGMA), a trade association serving glazing contractors in the Greater Philadelphia area, has introduced a new benefit that offers members both a customized Quality Management System (QMS) and a Quality Assurance Program (QAP). Since small contracting businesses may lack formal organizational structure and processes, AGMA hopes these quality assurance plans will boost their operational efficiency and customer satisfaction, .

Why it works? QMS provides a set of policies, processes, and procedures to help contractors better achieve their business goals, including their ability to meet customer requirements. QAP will help businesses improve their process efficiency by providing a template for internal organizational structure. It also “specifies adequate product testing, and feeds back test results and customer complaints to solve problems and encourage improvements throughout the organization,” states the AGMA website. In addition, QAP gives an advantage to members preparing for the North American Contractor Certification.

Other benefits: On top of these new plans, members also get access to industry advancement programs, educational seminars, and a variety of safety resources, including a confidential hotline and a customizable manual.
