Organization: Society for Vascular Surgery

Conference: 2017 Vascular Annual Meeting

Venue: San Diego Convention Center

City: San Diego

After a selection of workshops and concurrent sessions on Wednesday, the 2017 Vascular Annual Meeting will officially start with an opening ceremony on Thursday morning. Later that day, Dr. Tara Mastracci will take the stage for the Roy Greenberg Distinguished Lecture and discuss how aneurysms affect people worldwide—no matter their socioeconomic status, age, or gender. Also on the docket:

Smartphone friendly. Attendees will be able to text questions to the moderators during various sessions this year, including the postgraduate courses, breakfast, and plenary sessions. This feature has been so popular that it was expanded for 2017.

Curated content. Based on attendee feedback, SVS will introduce programs geared toward private-practice surgeons and young surgeon attendees. Two SVS member committees identified sessions and abstracts that would be of interests to these expanding attendee groups.

On stage. The Vascular Live stage is an interactive experience in the exhibit hall that puts exhibitors face-to-face with vascular surgeons. Exhibitors can present new ideas, provide clinical trial updates, showcase new technologies, and discuss the latest trends in a theater-in-the-round environment.
