Meet Ryan Waldorf – Business Development Manager at MemberSuite
What’s your role at MemberSuite?
I manage the Inside Sales and Business Development team at MemberSuite. We are an integral part of growing our customer base.
Where are you from?
I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. When I was about 6 years old my family moved to Florida to establish a life in the United States. I grew up on the same barrier island as Kennedy Space Center, so we got to watch a lot of rocket and space shuttle launches.
How did you get into Sales?
Except for the one job I had chasing hot air balloons, my entire life life has revolved around Sales. Shortly after moving to the US, my mom started a preschool, and my father started his own classic car company. I owe a lot of who I am today to their entrepreneurial spirit. Watching both of them create successful businesses has helped me shape my career and put me on a driven sales path.
What should we know about you?
I am extremely adventurous and love anything that gets my adrenaline pumping. I once tried to pet a king cobra as a child, my mom was barely able to yank me away. I’m lucky to still be alive.
Growing up in Florida, I spent a lot of time outdoors surfing, fishing, playing sports, or riding dirt bikes. Other random facts about me:
- If it has a motor, I can drive it.
- I lack the ability to smell.
- I’ve broken more bones than necessary.
What do you like to do for fun?
Working on cars is probably my biggest hobby. I have a 1966 Mustang that I rebuilt from the ground up. I still spend a lot of time playing sports like soccer 2-3 times a week. Also, my wife and I love watching football on the weekend, and good old fashioned house parties are always great.
What is your favorite project you’ve worked on at MemberSuite?
The chance to work on Insights, our new Business Intelligence platform. It’s been exciting to be a part of building out a tool that can have a lot of impact on our customers.
What is the best part of working at MemberSuite?
The people! I work with some of the greatest people in the world. It’s exciting to be a part of a company where everyone cares so much about helping their coworkers succeed.
Anything else you’d like to share?
Yes! I have the most amazing family. I recently became a dad and it is the greatest thing in the world. I have an amazing wife, who has helped tame some of my adventurousness. Without her I would not be who I am today! Here’s a picture of me with Brayden and my wife, Jenny.
