In 2016, 73 percent of survey respondents said retention was higher than 75 percent; this year only 65 percent could say the same. The decline is not really cause for alarm, says Edward Wendling, global marketing director for ASI, but it could serve as a wake-up call for associations focused squarely on membership retention.
