NFL’s Latest Leadership Push: A “Rooney Rule” for Women

This week, in an effort to improve diversity in the NFL, commissioner Roger Goodell announced plans to institute a “Rooney Rule” for women. The rule, which was implemented to require that minority candidates be interviewed for coaching positions, will now be used to require the same for female candidates in executive roles. The NFL wants to break another glass ceiling—this time, for women.
