In January 2002, Peter and I opened the doors of Mariner Management. Could we – a married couple with three sons to raise – open a business to create a new option for small, chapter based membership organizations and succeed? Heck why not? While I won’t say the sailing has always been smooth, it has always been an exciting ride.

Public Interest Registry has managed the.org domain registry since 2002. In late November, Public Interest Registry said it had reached an agreement to be acquired by Ethos for an undisclosed price. There are roughly 10 million.org domains in operation, including most web addresses used by associations.
