Between 2000 and 2010, the 55+ segment grew from 13 to nearly 20 percent of the workforce, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The 65 to 74 year old segment of the workforce is expected to grow 55 percent between 2015 and 2024. By 2024, 25 percent of the workforce is projected to be senior citizens.
