Here it is: Our 2018 eLearning predictions set in terms of Gartner’s hype cycle. It’s a great attractor for learning experiences at conferences and multi-day live courses. One case study a week paired with a multiple-choice question makes a ton of sense, perhaps even as a replacement for high stakes certification.

Even if an instructor has scored well on conference evaluations, an online environment requires a new skillset. Case studies are based on one of the most ancient stories: the hero’s journey. For example, at an ASAE conference, several members presented a video that illustrated a common problem for IT directors.
