The main event was chicken (instead of veal) piccata with steamed asparagus (another menu deviation because, oh my, I knew asparagus in that sauce would be so good and it was) and bucatini amatriciana. We started with crostini topped with a spread made from cannellini beans, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, basil pesto, salt and pepper.
