In fact, I took my first graduate class as a lifelong learner because it was so much cheaper. For example, if an association offers online certification, it can easily incorporate a YouTube video or podcast. An example would be getting your high-fidelity medical simulator to talk to your LMS and LRS. MOOCs: We will go against the grain a bit here and argue that MOOCs AREN’T DEAD. All the MOOCs out there. A couple years ago, I started noticing people from higher education referring to any old online course as a “MOOC.”

When I went to college, a middle class kid could afford a four-year liberal arts education. Not your typical classes, I know, but they’re life skills people need to develop personally and professionally. Supplement this curriculum with specialized classes that train people to enter an industry or profession.

For example, you may think students will enjoy group projects, but find out they actually dread the idea. #3: If you’re reading something difficult, you’re more likely to “get it” if the writer uses an example to illustrate what they’re trying to get across.

If you’ve taken a continuing education class, you’ve seen how students fade away over time. They have trouble making class and keeping up with coursework. Providing examples or scenarios. Ask good questions, for example, open-ended questions that require a higher level of reflection and thinking. People get busy.
