A new survey of nonprofit board directors found there is room for improvement in board performance and suggests several steps boards can take to better serve their organizations’ needs. Sixty-five percent reported they don’t think their board is very experienced, and about 50 percent don’t think their colleagues are engaged in their work.

Some good news on the fundraising front: Sixty-one percent of nonprofits reported they expect to increase fundraising revenues this year, up from the 53 percent that reported an increase last year. The survey also found that fundraisers who are better outfitted and plugged in, technologically speaking, outperformed their peers.
