With a vocational accounting certificate in my hand, I began working as an intern for the company CFO and loved both working and getting paid. It may seem surprising to go from an intern program in the early 80s with a vocational certificate out of high school, to Director of Business Technology and Intelligence.

When a learner accumulates a sufficient balance of CE credits over a certain span of time, she achieves maintenance of certification. There are other projects underway to solve it, including the MedBiquitous Activity Report standard and (in a sense) the Mozilla Open Badges project.
